Mooky Goes To The Dentist!

Yesterday, my 4 year-old cat, Mooky, had her 2 canine teeth plus 3 other teeth extracted. She apparently has bad gum disease and was in discomfort while eating. We'll never know whether this was really needed and just a money grab-scam by the vets, but I guess we have to trust them...to the tune of $560.

She came home quite drowsy and later, wobbly on her feet. She also was leaking urine for awhile. The vet gave her a needle for anti-biotic that will last 2 weeks, plus a needle for pain. We have to continue giving her liquid oral pain meds for 4 days. Mooky has switched to soft food, needless to say!

Her usual habit of rubbing her cheeks on everything has been slightly curtailed...that is to say, she starts to do it and then quickly realizes that it hurts so stops....but then continues to do this over and over again ! Such is the way of strongly ingrained habits of animals!

Bad cat, Mooky! But you're too funny!

The guys doing the tile work on our reno hadn't been gone 3 minutes when Mooks decided to inspect their work! Well, walking on the tile wasn't too bad so she kept right on "mookying" into the bathroom and did a hasty turnaround! (Is this a four-point-paw turn?!) As usual, she left her mark, as cats will do in one form or another.

Price of the tiles? $150

Price of grout and glue? $50

Price of the labour? $400

Mooky, mucking around? PRICELESS!

P.S. UPDATE!

I gave the tile guys their morning smile today when I left this old place mat I found while cleaning under the sink! It's the first thing I thought of doing when I saw it and I just couldn't resist. They got such a kick out of it.....a first no doubt! Mooky made them banana bread for morning coffee break!

Now does this look like a bad kitty?

Mooky has to inspect the lumber that has arrived for our floor! It's tamarack which is a hard type of softwood. The builder has it in his own house and says it's durable and a whole lot cheaper than hardwood!











Oh no! I lost my toy mouse down the register! It just "registered" (HA!) with Mooky that she may never see this friend again! But she still continued to look for it afterwards as most cats do!











I'm not helping you strip wallpaper either! I've helped enough with my inspections!








Time to relax and roll around in my winter fat. Mooky is so chubby now she looks like a grub! If you threw her, she'd roll just like a ball I'm sure!

Early Snow Last Week

A surprise last weekend! It had all melted by dinner time and then tonight it's snowing again and they're predicting 10-20 cm! Maybe the kids will get a snow day from school!
