Reporting in!
Just to let you know how things are going......Here's me trying out that stick you put on the end of a camera so you can hold out you arm and take a picture of yourself!! Not too bad actually!
My knees are still hurting even though I've been wearing a brace for two weeks and I just got my right index finger shot with cortisone yesterday so it is still a bit sore. I'm still swimming instead of walking. I really miss urban poling . I have a stress test on a treadmill on Aug. 12 which will be hard on my knees if they're not in better shape by then. I've tried poling a bit but then my knees and foot hurt. Can't win! I'll just stick to swimming mostly.
My two choirs are over for the summer and so is my volunteer work at the school. I should have more time to read books now! I'm reading all of Rabbi Harold Kushner's books right now and I love the way he thinks.
The reno is mostly done with a few finish-up things to do on the outside...like steps for the porch and the deck to be built on the upper level on the roof of the addition. I am so going to love spending time up there! There's even an outside plug for music or a coffee machine!! Or lights!
There is plenty of yard work to do and we've hired two kids to help do some on the weekends and for some of the summer.
I'll post pictures soon of the inside and outside. Have to stop typing now since it hurts and I'm getting a hot flash!!!
HA!
Hope you're all doing fine! Thanks for all your supportive comments.

What a lovely photo! It's great to put a face to the name. Sorry to hear you're in so much pain,I'll remember you when I'm sending our Reiki. xx

ha ha, a camera on a stick. who knew? I just hold it out at arms length, but then the photo looks like I'm holding the camera out at arms length.
The photo came out well.
Sorry to hear you continue to suffer aches and pains. Feeling our age (do we ever really feel our age - I never do, I'd love to feel like a four year old skipping inthe playground - physical and mental ages never seem to map to one another) is never any fun - especially when they really shouldn't be part of our age.
Take care.

How good to see you smiling and happy despite all you've been going through. Isn't it fun to put faces to names?

What an absolutely lovely picture! And has been mentioned, you would never know that you were going through physical ailments by the warm and happy smile on your face. Hope things start to get better soon!

Even though your post was full of painful ailments it made me laugh to "hear" the happy tone despite the complaints and then to see the happy picture at the end. You look strong! And happy! Screw hot flashes, painful knees, painful backs, sore fingers...

Does no-one believe in tripods anymore? *lol* You DO look in excellent spirits for having so many little troubles! Good on ya!

Love your photo MOI, and you have a lovely smile going there despite the pain you're having to deal with. I hope that you will feel better soon and some of those aches go away. I remember how everything just seemed so effortless and pain-free when being young and now that I'm over 50, the body is stiff, achy and uuughhh those hot flashes are awful too LOL! Hugs to you MOI and feel better soon! Your renos sound great!

How nice to hear from you and to see you! The photo is great. I do hope some of your aches and pains go away.
The first time I had a stress test my knee was bad and so they injected me with a drug to simulate what they needed to measure.
Thanks ofr posting and letting us know how you are.

Yeah! A post! Love the photo and am thrilled the reno is nearing completion. We've had storm after storm for the past many days. Everything is deep green and over grown from it all and there's not much I can do except stand at the window and shake my trowel and pruners at it all and then go read a book.
Rather nice, actually.

MOI- you definitely don't look like you're in oain in that photo. Must be your positive spirit shining through.
Hopefully the stress test will go easier than you're anticipating.
Can't wait to see photos of the reno.
(heehee- at first I thought you were moving to Nevada, HA)
....groan...

Seems like a LONG time since I’ve dropped by … and I heartily apologize. My life has gotten so busy that visiting blogs has taken a back seat. I’ve continued to post daily at Small Reflections (and a couple of times each week at Sacred Ruminations), but with friends ‘in town’ rather than traveling and with attending Photoshop classes (2-3 times per week at 3-4 hours a stretch), keeping up with Molly … gardening … and other ‘real world’ responsibilities (in addition to wanting to watch the French Open matches the past two weeks) … lots fell through the cracks.
I now realize you’ve taken a break as well … so perhaps you understand. I loved the DOG piece followed by photos of Whiskers … too precious!!! I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself … hope your hands and knees improve to provide you freedom to do things you love … and will check in as time permits to keep in touch. I enjoyed your most recent update and photo (very clever of you to figure this ‘stick maneuver’ out) … will look forward to pictures of the new place.
Hugs and blessings,

What a great project to tackle Rabbi Kushner's writings! His writing is universal.

I hope the pain has gotten better - it's been a while since I've had the luxury of time to read all of the blogs I enjoy, and I've missed reading yours.
