Poetry Friday DANCE

The Poetry word is DANCE. Thanks, Mona. This is a picture of an inukshuk I built on the shore of a river in my favourite summer vacation spots - our log cabins.

Look To My Inukshuk

i
prefer
a
familiar
road
but
sometimes
I wander and lose the road
or the road loses me
and i am so lost
trying to find my way home
looking for the arms
of an Inukshuk
(my inner Inuit folklore spirit)
to point the way
guiding signposts
small but pivotal
effecting the change i need
to bring me back to where I should be
is this the old road from which I strayed
or a new one?
I know not-
but when I sadly sense
that I am merely watching
from the periphery
everyone else dance their life's steps
I hope that an inukshuk
beckons me into the centre
of The Circle to share
my own Dance and perhaps
even join one of theirs ....

for awhile

***Blogger wouldn't let me separate the words to look like the legs at the bottom of this shape poem but you get the idea!

A sweet poem. I like the idea of the bottom of the poem being in the shape of legs. I would have liked to have seen that!

MOI, further to the post on my blog about the gate, why not write something about on your blog, if you like - if you do, let me know, and I'll do a link from my blog to yours.

Thanks, all! I would so have loved to figure out how to print it with the legs!
I love the inukshuk and have 2 necklaces and earrings with them on it. As Bobby said, it is the logo for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, BC Canada so you'll be seeing a lot of them in the next few years.
