We're Into The Light!

Thanks for all your comments recently. I will gradually get caught up in reading the blogs I've missed during this hectic couple of days to come.

I had a fabulous birthday on Dec. 22nd! A once in a lifetime; turning 53 from my birth year of '53! I'm a Solstice-First Day of Winter Kid! (Does that mean I'm balanced?!!) From the minute I was born and on all my birthdays, there comes a tiny bit more light every day until we complete the long crawl to Spring.
I prefer to think that this signifies the special and unique light I bring to the world and all people and things in my closer world. One can always hope that he/she can make a difference no matter how big or small.

All the best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous NewYear for 2007!

Mother of Invention, getting a feel for 53!

Happy Birthday! It's nice to see someone with a birthday so close to Christmas who loves it. It also has to be a nice gift each year to get a few more minutes of daylight day-by-day as a gift.

Take heart, some of us will always be older than you are! Don't you feel that the definition of OLD is redefined with each birthday? You are a light in many of our lives. A belated happy birthday to you, MOI!

Mother of Invention the Omnipotent Flame!
Nice ring to it for sure.

I know what you mean about getting caught up.
I feel like I have abandoned my blog friends.

If you were witchy like me you would have been named Morgan, for the great Celtic Queen that is raised upon the Solstice. The keeper of Winter.

I'm glad you had a wonderful birthday mother of invention! We are so very close in age! I'm going to turn 53 on Feb. 1 and I was born in '54.
I completely understand what you were writing about in your last post. Those 'perfect families' in 'perfect homes' are 100 percent fantasty and tend to make normal people like me feel inferior so I stick my tongue out at them LOL! It is fun to look at the pictures though.

Don't know why or how I left you two out above!!

Brooksba:
Thanks..I'm used to my birthday now and sometimes cash in on extras! I love the fact that there's more light happening now, although we barely notice it.

Barbara: You are so right on about the re-definition of old age as we get up there! I used to think 30 was old!
Thanks so much for saying I bring light to many of you...I'd love to think I do that.

A very happy, belated birthday to you! (I'm just getting caught up from missing the last week and then some.) Hope your Christmas turned out to be truly beautiful, and not in the House Beautiful way, in the warm, slightly irregular, memory-making, flour in your hair and on your nose way.

Colleen: Thanks! of course, I did...at least 2 more times!

Steve: I'm never surprised at your weird comments...I don't have a sun dial but I think they're cool...I don't get the connection to The Twilight Zone, or are you just zoned out there today?!!

Dianna: Thanks! Yes, I had the exact Christmas you described! Glad you're better! Hope you don't have to work!

Happy belated birthday! So are you one of those who gets double the presents or do you get the same number of presents, just divided over two days?

Blogger Mother of Invention said...

Richard: Thanks! It works both ways for me..just depends on who is doing the giving. I actually think I get more presents just because people are in buying mode!

These kinds of things always interest me. Especially being a Leap Year Baby.

Last night I walked in the kitchen at 12:34; I took that as a sign I was meant to have crunchy mesquite chips. Those special times of day - 1:23 2:34, 3:45, 4:56 - are an invitation, I think, to do something special for ourselves. 8-)
