Poetry Friday: "Patient"

Here's a definition, as I gaze upon the weekend traffic outside my door!

patience personified!
sitting waiting
cars lined up
bumper to bumper
headed north
hot as Hades
Air con broken
wasp inside
kids fighting
thirsty and hungry
grumbling and whining
car is idling
polluting air
laboured breathing
gas gauge down
getting dark
still need groceries
stores are closing
cat is yowling
dog needs out
and...
so
do
I
Mother of Invention, wishing you all the patience you need!

Fun! Perfect way to describe patience. There's nothing that can test your nerves like traffic.

Old Lady: Thanks very much...I just brainstorm with myself..(well I guess technically, that's not brainstorming unless I have 2 of them and I don't think so!)and then I just write a stream-of-consciousness flow of ideas, and arrange them in a form I like.

Diana: Thanks....we just came up the highway from south of here and were a part of all that for a wee while! Ugh! Nice to be in my home and see my cat quietly and peacefully sleeping on my bed!

Renny: Thanks...we're all a little envious of you, at your summer house for a solid block of time, not having to be on any busy roads! It's crazy here! Keep enjoying your time off!

Brooksba: Yes, you got that right and I'm glad I don't have to test my patience this weekend! Not for a few more weeks!

Cancer Sucks: Thanks for visiting and sorry, but I chose to delete your poem. Nothing but terribly plain old squeaky clean wholesome stuff here. Be glad to read some of that!

This is when people-watching is enjoyable, as you sit there smugly and patiently watching the lives of others unravel!

Patience is a virtue I need to work on. I love the way you give your poems a shape.

Thanks, Barbara! I just got used to using that centre button instead the old left margin and then just improvised. I like deciding when to end the line...and it can be many ways since in many of those, I purposely don't use any punctuation.
I'll post the poem I wrote about a totem pole sometime...I had never used that button and when I did, the thing instantly took the shape of a totem pole!

Cancer Sucks: I don't often keep others' work, not even all my own unless it is meaningful. I'm missing a lot iof my early stuff that I've done for people's birthdays etc. But I'm sure you've kept your own as it seemed very personal.
