Poetry Friday: Mad

Mona is all "mad" on Poetry Friday!

In what type of vehicle exactly does something drive you mad?

Or even just around the bend?

Or up a wall?

I hope it's fuel-efficient

Leaves plenty of gas for the next trip

They'll be no guzzling with reckless abandon

on this maniacal ride!

Hang on!

So what brought you here?

Was it the pesky mosquito

buzzing in your ear

on the hottest night of the year

IN your brand new tent?

Was it the tenth telemarketer

calling at dinner time

trying to pedal a frozen cow

when you've just told him

you're vegetarian?!

Or was it that

you slept through the alarm

on garbage day

and raced to the curb

in your p.j.'s

with two bags

just as the truck was pulling away

two doors down?

Or maybe

after perusing the menu

you have your heart all set

on the Pasta Primavera special

and your mouth starts watering

as the waitress tells you

they just ran out

and you wistfully watch

as your plate is delivered

to the very next table!

So what brought you here?
(This is Free Verse...doesn't cost a thing to add one!!)

The war that's raging in my head.
Causing me to take myself to bed.

The madness floods my every nerve.
Sapping my body of all it's verve.

Oh pain, oh pain be gone from here.
Restore me back to jolly good cheer.

Um, oh, by the way. I have a RAGING headache

Hi MOI!

I try not to get mad but...

I fume when I find family members sprawl themselves across a public pavement!

I fume when a cyclist rings its bell from my back on a pedestrian walkway!

I fume when youngsters (not so young, middle-ageds some times) roughshod elderlies in public places...because they're in a hurry!!!

So you can imagine my life will be shortened in no time!!!!

Confidential to the people driving their cars in the bike lane:

Hey, you! That place you're driving? yeah, it's a bike lane. For Bicycles. Not cars with drivers too impatient to wait for the line of cars ahead of them.

Some day you're gonna really hurt someone doing that. Just stop it, already, okay. you're not gonna get there any faster driving in the bike lane.

Brilliant!

The caterpillars that are scarfing my roses are what are driving me mad, now. Soon, it will be the beetles munching my vegetable garden.

I really need a saner hobby.

A haiku, somethin that makes me fume. Although she doesn't mean to:

My little kitten
Squirts pee out of the cat box
spilling on the floor.

It does not do for me to get Mad cuz i get way too mad.
When I was a Chef,
I would tear my
paper Stovepipe hat off
and slam-dunk it
into the trash can.
Like that was going to do any good.
When my Dad
used to get mad,
he would say
"Good golly Miss Smirnoff,
sometimes it seems
like everything I touch
Just turns into wood"
Thats kinda a Poem is'nt it?

I sure have been missin' me some MOI...very busy coupla weeks.

ok, my biggest pet peeve (or pet "mad") - drivers who block intersections! When I learned how to drive in Michigan, that was a big deal. In DC, where I've been for the last 37 years, nobody seems to have heard of this little piece of driving etiquette.

my 2nd pet peeve is with stupid Blogger and this idiotic word challenge they make everyone go through just to see if you're human before you can deposit your comment. I always have to do it at lest twice. My wordpress blog doesn't make people go through this kubuki dance.

Mike M.: Thanks. Come on back now, y'hear?

Annelisa: HA! Good tonic, without the gin?!

Jocelyn: I'd be spilling the ice cream on the keyboard and that would make me mad! I thought you were going to say it peeved you when the top scoop fell onto the ground!

GR:Aw, but she's still so cute!

Steve: Hey, thanks, Stevo! Your dad didn't get that riled if that's all he said.

I thought those chef's hats were starched cotton!!! Paper?!! Pffftt!

David: We're all pretty good about keeping the intersection clear.

What's up wih that Blogger anyhow? Even when I KNOW I've typed it right, it rejects the word verif!!
