My father always met with his Division from Viet Nam every year. The Marine Corps birthday and Veterans Day are always close to each other and is a double remembrance for me.

Old Lady: I think that those meetings have meant a lot to them and is important to keep having the connection for as long as they can. Must have been an incredible time to share.

My Dad was in North Africa, Itlay and then France. I am fortunate enough to have a lot of photos he took and I am hoping you have many as well. All these guys are real treasures.

Steve: You bet they're treasures! Wish I'd taped all the stories! Was your dad in the airforce or army? He sure did the tour!

Dad was Air Force, a mechanic in the 49th, the Fighting Falcons. The name of his Crews plane was "Available Jones" and had the usual decal of a very busty gal with her head thrown back on the fuselage. What was your Dad's plane named? I think the names are cool. I have dads gI issue pocket Bible that was found in a field in France and sent back to him after the War. That is a treasure. Dad took a lot of pictures in Africa and Italy. The ones from Italy have a smoking Vesuvius as a backdrop.

That's what I thought was so strange! Like the universe didn't want me posting the pic of the gunner who had died. But it may be because for some reason I saved it as bit map and not jpeg?
